Lodges & Study Centers

The purposed of local study centers and lodges is to share ideas and experiences with other people who are interested in and/or members of the Theosophical Society as well as other people who consider themselves Theosophists. Annie Besant, President of the Theosophical Society in 1907, held weekly meetings with members called “In the Twilight”. The purpose of a study center is similar. It is possible to study theosophy simply through reading books, especially those written by its founder Madame Blavatsky, and it is possible now to study theosophy through the many on-line resources and webinars available through the Theosophical Society in America’s website. But it is also important to get together with other like-minded people in-person to develop life-long friendship and raise vibrations and inspiration in a group atmosphere which fosters a solid community. We are also offered guidance through these experiences and gather tacit knowledge which can not be found through written or electronic means. If there is not a local study center or lodge in your area we encourage you to start one. If you are interested in hosting a theosophical meeting and/or starting a group please contact TS National Secretary, David Bruce.
